FRAMINGHAM, Mass.—Peerless Media LLC has announced that registration is now open for the second annual Robotics Applications Conference, an online event that will be on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023. The company, which produces Robotics 24/7, has also announced many of speakers who will be sharing their unique perspectives on how robots are being used in the real world.

“As with last year’s event, we want to provide a venue for robotics users and integrators as well as vendors to explain their journeys into automation,” stated Eugene Demaitre, editorial director of Robotics 24/7 and moderator. “Our audience values discussions of how to evaluate, implement, and manage robots and automation, as well as the growing stack of software and other technologies around them.”

“As we continue to focus on robotics applications in supply chain, logistics, and manufacturing, I look forward to informative conversations with industry experts,” he said. “Hundreds of robotics users from Fortune 500 companies, as well as small and midsize enterprises, tuned in last year, and our attendees are always engaged.”

This year’s keynote session will focus on how to optimize warehouse operations with robots and artificial intelligence. Panelists will include Matt Hardenberg, vice president of distribution at Ariat International; John Santagate, vice president of robotics at Körber Supply Chain Software; and Randy Randolph, vice president of channels and partnerships at Geekplus America.

“Our keynote exemplifies what makes the Robotics Applications Conference, or RAC ’23, special,” said Demaitre. “This will get a leading apparel brand, an integrator and software provider, and a mobile robot supplier together to share their requirements, challenges, and solutions.”

End-user speakers in other sessions will represent diverse organizations including CCU, the Mayo Clinic, and nioform, plus major robotics suppliers such as Dexterity, Cyngn, inVia Robotics, and Vanderlande. Innovative software and component providers like Brightpick, inOrbit, and Microsoft are also slated to participate.

Changing of the Guard at Supply Chain Management Review

Brian Straight assumes role of Editor in Chief

FRAMINGHAM, MASS. — Brian Straight has joined Peerless Media’s Supply Chain Group as the new Editor in Chief of Supply Chain Management Review (SCMR).

Straight takes over the editorial reigns from Bob Trebilcock, a 40-year B2B editorial veteran who has overseen SCMR since taking over from Founding Editor Frank Quinn in 2013. The move allows Trebilcock to continue to concentrate on his role as Executive Editor of Modern Materials Handling, a publication he’s contributed to since 1984.

Straight was the founding editor of FreightWaves.com, and in 2021 launched a new title for FreightWaves called Modern Shipper, an effort that earned him a Jesse H. Neal Award for Best New Product in 2022. Prior to that experience, he spent nine years with Penton Media on Fleet Owner, overseeing both the monthly magazine and website operations.

“Brian not only comes to Peerless Media with solid B2B magazine management experience, but he also brings an extremely strong logistics and freight transportation coverage background with him,” said Michael Levans, Group Editorial Director of Peerless Media’s Supply Chain Group. “We’re thrilled to have Brian join Peerless Media and drive the editorial vision for SCMR into the future.”

“I’m very thankful for the opportunity afforded me to lead the SCMR brand,” said Straight. “As just the third Editor in Chief in the publication’s history, I’m honored to be trusted with the responsibility to shepherd SCMR forward and continue the great legacy that Bob and Frank created.”

Brian joined the staff on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, and can be reached at bstraight@peerlessmedia.com.

Peerless Media Announces “Peerless Cares” Ad Campaign

(Framingham) – Peerless Media announced today that the company will launch an ad campaign entitled “Peerless Cares” in the print brands Supply Chain Management Review, Logistics Management, Modern Materials Management, Material Handling Product News and Desktop Engineering. The intent of the campaign is to show the company’s support for the cancer organization, The Beauty Foundation for Cancer Care.

The Beauty Foundation for Cancer Care is a nationwide, 501(c)(3) charity that raises money for families that are dealing with cancer. Their mission is to alleviate the overwhelming financial and emotional strains that cancer treatment places on families. The organization helps pay the bills that aren’t covered by insurance, such as household expenses, transportation to treatment, wigs, child care, etc. This year marks the 10th anniversary of The Beauty Foundation, which in that time has provided over $1M in grants.

The Beauty Foundation also supports these families emotionally with programs such as Adopt-A-Family, which provides holiday presents for families who can’t afford them or if the parent is too sick to shop for them, Basket Brigade, which provides a full Thanksgiving meal for hundreds of families each year for the same reasons, and PROM, an annual dance held at Robert Wood Johnson hospital for the teens on the oncology/hematology floor who aren’t able to attend their own school dances.

Peerless Media has been a financial supporter of the organization since the company’s launch in 2010. “The Beauty Foundation has made a difference in the lives of so many families going through an immensely difficult time”, said Brian Ceraolo, President of Peerless Media. “We’re proud to support an organization that is 100% volunteer so that every dollar goes to helping people who really need it.”
